It more or less implied that the general healing spell for open wounds wouldn't work for everything. He wondered how bad a wound had to be for the spell not to work. He would make sure to learn the spell for stopping blood as well, even if he couldn't really put it into much practice (his injuries were rarely that bad). The Moon and its influence is felt in all things. You, me, the animals, the tides, the sap in the trees, and the juices in plants. It can and does cause fluctuations on the psychic energies within each of us. So, it would only make sense that the Moon would have a direct influence on any magick that you perform.
It is Man's oldest calendar. Evidence of ancient cultures keeping time with the phases of the Moon can be found etched in caves and carved in rock the world over. Many legends and beliefs are associated with the Moon. In the Celtic beliefs, the Moon had its own sacred Tree associated with it, each tree having either Feminine or Masculine energies, along with a name for each moon phase or month (there were thirteen months in the Celtic calendar depending on the phases of the Moon.)
Also, the Crescent Moon, for example, is a sacred symbol of the Goddess and also a symbol of magick, fertility, and the secret powers of Nature. Moon-shaped amulets are said to be extremely lucky for those born under the astrological sign of Cancer. Some women and their cycles attune or become attuned with the moon and its phases and is considered sacred and good. Too, the Farmers Almanac even references the Moon and the astrological signs which correspond in regards to the best planting and harvesting times. The Moon and its energies have been shown to be very powerful indeed!
The phases of the Moon influence the potency and efficiency of the magick work. The Moons phase is important to what type of Magick you will be performing. Simply, there are two cycles and three phases during each cycle. These are the times used when working magick. Below are descriptions of the phases and some of what magick is performed when. Please remember that the moon is known by many names and many old tales, myths, legends and even some groups all have different interpretations and aspects set accordingly to their own beliefs. This is just a general view.
The WAXING MOON
The moon is called WAXING when it moves from the period of the New Moon to the Full Moon. The Moon is growing and has a 'pulling in ' effect on all things exposed her energy. This is the time of great psychic enhancement and effects. The perfect time for abundance wishes, new projects, growth, expansion, increasing health and well- being, new love affairs, increasing of knowledge and spirituality, best time to plant certain herbs, fertility, or to begin long spell times for such as those mentioned. The Waxing Moon is tremendous in her force.
The WANING MOON
The Moon is called WANING when it moves from Full Moon to New Moon. The psychic vibrations are still there just lower and has the effect of 'pulling away' on things. So, this of course is the best time for getting rid of anything you want nor need in your life, destructive magick, remove low vibrations in your home or at work, banish negative thoughts eliminate, separate, undo, recede, letting go of the past and guilt, start a weight loss program, start an affirmative thinking way of life, best time to harvest or cut herbs and flowers, release anger or hostile situations and emotions. Powerful time for making room for the new and improved!
THE PHASES
The phases within the cycles are used too in the development of the desires and wishes. The FULL MOON is best for the strongest psychic energies and can be used in any magick spells. The NEW MOON or No Moon or Black Moon is a time for rest and attainment of desires are in a pause. This is the best time to prepare for the new wishes and to form your requests very seriously. You may also find that your own energies are running a little low at this point and some may have trouble concentrating. Take a break during this period and give yourself a rest. You will find when working WITH the moon and her phases not only helps with the attainment of your desires but your body will start to get itself in a cycle and you can learn to implement the stages in your life and avoid doing things at certain times instead of feeling like you are knocking your head against the wall.
TELLING THE DIFFERENCE
The way to see which phase the Moon is in without a handy-dandy chart or calendar with you at all times, is pretty easy once you do it once or twice. The NEW MOON appears to be totally dark or that there is no moon out there this night. A WAXING crescent is a LIGHT coloured crescent on the RIGHT side of the Moon. Now, the FIRST QUARTER can be seen as the right half of the moon is LIT. The WAXING GIBBOUS is three-fourths of the LIGHT of the Moon can be seen and this brings us to the FULL MOON which of course is she shining in all her glory!
The WANING crescent from the FULL moon can be seen as a DARK crescent appears on the RIGHT side of the moon. The THIRD QUARTER is that of the right half of the Moon is now DARK. The WANING GIBBOUS is three- fourths dark and that brings us to the NEW MOON again. From here, it should be easy to just look out and tell what kind of moon it is.

WAXING MOON
Let's start with a Waxing Crescent Moon, the kind that looks like a Man in a Moon drawing or a cute Christmas tree ornament with a smiling face and a long white beard. When the Moon is a Waxing Crescent; the dark side is to your left, more or less, and the bright Crescent is to your right. (Sometimes the Moon is tipped a little, so it may not be exactly right or left, but you will know what i mean if you go outside and look at it.)
The Waxing Crescent Moon
rises after sunrise and sets after sunset --
it is only seen in the night sky for a short
time after the sun goes down.
Every night the Moon rises in the East a little later and the thickness of the Waxing Crescent gets fatter, until the shape of the Moon is half a circle. This is the First Quarter, also called by some people the Waxing Half Moon. It is dark on the left and bright on the right
The Waxing First Quarter Moon
rises about at noon
and sets about at midnight.
After that, the Moon starts to look like it is pregnant -- it is perfectly round on the right side, but bulged out past half-way on the left. This is the Waxing Gibbous Moon.
The Waxing Gibbous Moon
rises in the middle of the afternoon
and sets before well before sunrise.
FULL MOON
It takes about 14 days of growing bigger for the moon to grow or wax completely full -- that night you will see the Full Moon rise as a perfect circular disk.
The Full Moon
rises almost exactly at sunset
and sets almost exactly at the next sunrise.
WANING MOON
After its 14 days of waxing, culminating with the Full Moon, the entire process is reversed and the Moon decreases in apparent size. It slowly begins to go dark on the right side, while the left side stays the same disk-shape as it had when it was Full. This is the Waning Gibbous Moon -- it looks perfectly round on the left side, but bulged out past half-way on the right.
The Waning Gibbous Moon
rises in the early evening
and sets some time after sunrise.
Every night the Moon rises in the East a little later and the thickness of the Waning Gibbous gets thinner, until the shape of the Moon is half a circle. This is the Last Quarter, also called by some people the Third Quarter or Waning Half Moon. It is dark on the right and bright on the left.
The Waning Last Quarter Moon
rises about at midnight
and sets about at noon.
As the shape continues to shrink, night by night, the Moon becomes a Waning Crescent; the dark side is to your right, more or less, and the bright Crescent is to your left.
The Waning Crescent Moon
rises between midnight and dawn,
but fades out when the Sun comes up.
NEW MOON
Finally, growing smaller still, the moon has waned completely and it vanishes. This is called the Dark of the Moon or New Moon -- and on the night of the New Moon you will see no Moon at all, no matter how long you stay up and watch, because.
The New Moon (Dark Moon)
rises at sunrise
and sets at sunset.
WAXING MOON AGAIN
About 3 days after the true Dark of the Moon you will see a tiny sliver of a Moon like a fingernail paring appear in the sky at sunset near where the Sun has gone down. Some people call this the First Crescent. Others call it the Siva Moon, because the Hindu god Siva is shown with a thin crescent moon in his hair.
The First Crescent
rises a little bit after sunrise
and sets a little bit after sunset.
After that, the Moon grows (or waxes) to a nice, 'Man in the Moon' type Crescent Moon. And that's where we started out, with the Waxing Crescent Moon.
Dark Moon
Magus and Ariel
Chanting before and while entering circle. Soft background music when ritual starts.
Priest:
'We are gathered here in recognition of the dark, to celebrate
the dark mother, the crone of time, grandmother of us all!'
'All ears hear! The circle is about to be cast, let none be
present but of their own free will! Be it known that we are in the
presence of the dark Goddess.'
Priestess: {circles deosil with the salt, casts the first circle.}
'I cast the circle thus! With salt, deep from the womb of the mother!'
'From oceans deep and cold! I consecrate this space! So mote it be!'
Priest: {circling deosil with water.}
'I cast the circle thus! With water, ancient and old; with the
life blood of the world! I consecrate this space! So mote it be!'
Priest: {circling deosil with censor.}
'I cast the circle thus! With fire and air, clean and hot!
I consecrate this space! So mote it be!'
Priest:
'And ever it was thus!'
All:
'So mote it be!'
Calling of the quarters:
Priestess:
'Ancient one of elemental Air! I call and summon thee by name!
Raphael of the wide ranging air! Sylph of the endless skies! We bid you
come! Stand in our presence and guard this circle cast. So mote it be!'
All:
'So mote it be!'
Priest:
'Ancient one of elemental Earth! I call and summon thee by name!
Oriel of the fertile plain! Gnome of forests deep! We bid you come!
Stand in our presence and guard this circle cast! So mote it be!'
All:
'So mote it be!'
Priestess:
'Ancient one of elemental Fire! I call and summon thee by name!
Michael of flickering flame! Salamander of scorching fire! We bid you
come! Stand in our presence and guard this circle cast! So mote it be!'
All:
'So mote it be!'
Priest:
'Ancient one of elemental Water! I call and summon thee by name!
Gabriel of oceans and streams! Undine of pools and ponds! We bid you
come! Stand in our presence and guard our circle cast! So mote it be!'
All:
'So mote it be!'
Priest stands in the east, Priestess stands in the west. Together with outstretched arms begin chant A U M ! {invoking Spirit pent}
All:
'So mote it be!'
Priestess:
'And ever it was thus! From the beginnings of the world, air and
earth, fire and water woven together with spirit and love!'
All: {CHANT}
'We all come from the Goddess
And to her we shall return.
Like a drop of rain,
Flowing to the ocean.
Isis, Astarte, Diana,Hecate, Demeter, Kali, Inanna.'
Priest:
'Dark Mother! Crone of time! We ask your presence and your
blessing! All things to you must go, though darkness and death are your
domain, you promise peace and rest! Thy gift is life! Yours is the hand
that turns the wheel and cuts the thread. Be with us this magickal
night! Give each of us your wisdom and bless our rite! So mote it be!'
All:
'So mote it be!'
Priest and Priestess circle while chanting:
'Hecate, Hecate of visage dower,
Dark Mother, Dark Mother come in power.
Hecate, Hecate of visage dower,
Dark Mother, Dark Mother crone of time.'
While Priest and Priestess chant, everyone else can chant also if the mood strikes.
Each person will take a sheet of parchment paper and write down that which they have outgrown and want removed. They will keep the paper with them until later when this petition will be burned and tossed into cauldron.
Priest and Priestess:
'And ever it was thus!'
Priest:
'As God'
Priestess:
'To Goddess'
Together:
'So woman to man
From the beginnings of the universe
The energies joined and co-mingled
whereby we are sustained and carry on.'
Priestess takes chalice:
'Dark Lady, Mother of night, we thank you for your presence and
wisdom. (pouring liquid into libation bowl) as the fruit of the vine was
plucked and pressed, it came to know the touch of death and thereby we
are sustained and carry on!
Priest takes cakes:
'Likewise as the grain of the field ripened and fell beneath the
scythe it came to know the touch of death, whereby we are sustained and
carry on!'
While cakes and wine are passed around all will chant: {in retrospect this works better if you've got the music. Hebrew is hard}
'Hine matov umanayim
Shevet akim gom yokad'
(Happy are they that dwell
together as brother and sister)
Priestess:
'And ever it was thus!'
All:
'Blessed be!'
Priestess stand in the west with cauldron in front of her.
Priest kneels and silently draws down. While still kneeling Priest says:
'Dark Lady of the waning moon!
We thank you for your presence and your blessing, and in silence
we turn within and willingly offer to thy realm at which is old and
outdated, that which no longer has life and no longer grows.
We offer to thy Blade that which we no longer need.'
(Priest stands and lights cauldron)
Priestess draws invoking earth pentagram in front of Priest saying:
'Of the Mother darksome and divine
Mine the scourge, and mine the kiss;
The five-point star of love and bliss -
Here I charge you, with this sign.
Priest:
'Here ye the words of the Dark Lady; we who of old was called
among men Hecate, Persephone, Kali, and many other names.
Priestess:
'Worship me as the Crone! Tender of the unbroken cycle of death
and rebirth. I am the wheel, the shadow of the Moon.
I rule the tides of women and men and give release and renewal
to weary souls.
Though the darkness of death is my domain, the joy of birth is
my gift.
Everyone in turn ignites their petition off the cauldron and tosses it into the cauldron.
Priestess embraces each person as they go by.'
Priestess:
'And ever it was thus! That which falls to the hand of the crone finds regeneration and new life!'
All circle and CHANT:
'She changes everything she touches and everything she touches changes!'
Priestess:
'Grandmother! Blessed thou be! Depart to thy realms.
Thank you for the lessons learned this dark night! Blessed be!'
All:
'Blessed be!'
Priestess:
'Ancient one of elemental Air! Thank you for your vigil here!
Leave with us a renewed mind as clear as air! Blessed be!'
All:
'Blessed be!'
Priest:
'Ancient one of elemental Earth! Thank you for your vigil here!
Leave with us steadiness and patience! Blessed be!'
All:
'Blessed be!'
Priestess:
'Ancient one of elemental Fire! Thank you for your vigil here!
Leave with us swiftness and action, a flaming soul to always do
what is right! Blessed be!'
All:
'Blessed be!'

Brothers and sisters, we are children of the Lord and Lady!

Full Moon Spell
The Moon's energy is most intense when she reaches abundant fullness. Any magical effort, especially difficult ones, can benefit greatly from the potency of this phase. Use the full Moon to amplify magical intent and to give spell workings additional power. To seal spells performed during the full Moon, use this chant or one of your own choosing.
'Abundant Mother, Moon so bright
Hear my plea upon this night.
Your fertile power lend this spell
Make it potent, strong, and well'
Myrtle Crown Spell for the New Moon
deTraci Regula
Venus, the Roman Aphrodite, has as her symbol the evergreen myrtle. If thoughts of love are distressing you, make a simple crown of myrtle to make romance more possible in your life. To begin, take a piece of bendable wire and gently shape it around your forhead. Connect the ends at the back. Then bind strands of myrtle around the wire. If fresh myrtle is not available, use silk myrtle available from craft shops. Speak these words when you place the crown on your head:
'Venus, goddess of love, as I wind this sacred fillet I wind away fear.
I bind love to me.
Venus venerandum, she who must be revered, may I make no sin against the laws of love, and may I be loved in return.'
Wear the fillet when you feel that love has got the best of you, or when your relationships are not working well.
Moon Brew
Twilight Matriarch Not Beenfitng From Spell Dmg For Healing Youtube
Scott Cunningham
Set a silver container filled with water out on the night of the Full Moon just as it rises. Allow the water to soak up lunar rays all night, then just before dawn, rise and retreive the water. Place the water in an earth jug and cork tightly. Use this brew to anoint money to increase wealth. Touch it to your brow to promote psychic awareness. Or place it in the bath prior to lunar rituals to become attuned with the spiritual planes.
