Vmware Fusion 11 Download

Download VMware Fusion 8 and let your Mac run Windows, Linux or Mac OS X Server. Quitting VMware Fusion 8.0.1 on El Capitan disconnect all Bluetooth devices! This is very annoying, since it takes some switching of the mouse etc. To reconnect them.

VMware Fusion is a software hypervisor developed by VMware for Macintosh computers. VMware Fusion allows Intel-based Macs to run operating systems such as Microsoft Windows, Linux, NetWare, or Solaris on virtual machines, along with their macOS operating system using a combination of paravirtualization, hardware virtualization and dynamic recompilation.

Overview[edit]

A default.dmg image is compressed and is not bootable although an uncompressed.dmg will boot (if changed to.iso with VMware Fusion 1.1 through 2.x, not necessary for 3.x) and of course the source CD/DVD must be bootable in the first place. To create an ISO Image using Disk Utility. Insert the CD or DVD disc in your computer's optical drive.

VMware Fusion, made possible by the Apple–Intel transition, marked VMware's first entry into Macintosh-based x86 virtualization. VMware Fusion uses Intel VT present in the Intel Core microarchitecture platform. Much of the underlying technology in VMware Fusion is inherited from other VMware products, such as VMware Workstation, allowing VMware Fusion to offer features such as 64-bit and SMP support from the first beta version onward.

8.0.1

VMware Fusion 1.0 was released on August 6, 2007, exactly one year after being announced.[2]

Known Issues

The following issues might occur in this version of VMware Fusion.

  • After you exit Full Screen view on a multi-monitor system, an Ubuntu 16.04 virtual machine does not refresh properly
On a system with more than one monitor connected, if an Ubuntu 16.04 virtual machine is in Full Screen view, using all displays, the virtual machine does not refresh its display properly after you exit to Single Window view.
    Workaround
: If you experience this issue on an Ubuntu 16.04 virtual machine, restart the virtual machine. If you want to switch the virtual machine to Full Screen view, use a single display only.
  • When you install an Ubuntu 16.04 guest using the Easy Install option, an incorrect VMware Tools related menu item appears
In this situation, VMware Tools is installed, but when you select the Virtual Machine drop-down menu, the Install VMware Tools option is available instead of the Reinstall VMware Tools option.
    Workaround
    : Restart the virtual machine.
  • Fusion crashes when you attempt to create a remote virtual machine on vCenter 5.5
While connected to vCenter Server 5.5, if you attempt to create a remote virtual machine and save it to an ESXi 5.5 host that is managed by the vCenter Server instance, VMware Fusion crashes.
    Workaround:
To create a remote virtual machine and save it to the ESXi 5.5 host, connect to the ESXi 5.5 host directly instead of to vCenter Server 5.5.
  • On OS X 10.11.4 hosts, VMware Fusion sometimes fails to connect USB devices to the host or to the virtual machine
If you connect a USB device to an OS X 10.11.4 host while VMware Fusion is running, the USB device might fail to connect to the host or to the virtual machine. The issue only occurs on 10.11.4 hosts and only with specific USB devices, such as SanDisk Extreme Flash Drive and memory card readers.
Workaround: To access a USB device that is experiencing connection issues, take one of the following actions:
    • To access the device from an OS X 10.11.4 host, connect the device to the host when VMware Fusion is not running.
    • To access the device from a virtual machine, configure the Sharing settings to share the USB device contents to the virtual machine and from within the virtual machine access the USB contents from the shared folders.

Resolved Issues

Vmware Fusion 11.5

The following issues were resolved in this version of VMware Fusion.

  • Running graphic software with MSAA enabled causes VMware Fusion to crash
In a Windows virtual machine, running graphic software, such as a Realtime Landscape Architect program, or a graphic game, such as Civilization 4, with Multisample anti-aliasing (MSAA) enabled causes VMware Fusion to crash.
    This issue is resolved.

Vmware Fusion 8.5 Download

  • Resizing the window of a running virtual machine causes host-system memory to leak
Resizing the window of a running virtual machine by dragging its corner causes the amount of system memory used to increase. You can observe the memory usage by looking at the Memory Used value on the Memory tab of the Activity Monitor.
    This issue is resolved.
  • Enabling port forwarding breaks NAT
When you enable port forwarding, network address translation (NAT) breaks.
    This issue is resolved.

Vmware Fusion 8.5

  • Installing an automatic update unexpectedly suspends remote virtual machines
In VMware Fusion, after you connect to a remote virtual machine stored on either an ESXi server or a Workstation Server instance, as Fusion updates, the automatic update suspends or shuts down the running remote virtual machine, in addition to the running virtual machines that are stored on the local disk.
    This issue is resolved.

Vmware Fusion 8 Pro

  • Connecting specific USB devices to a virtual machine through a USB 3.0 controller causes issues
In VMware Fusion 8.1, the following situations occur when you connect the specified USB devices to a virtual machine through a USB 3.0 controller:
    • USB 3.0 scanner - this type of device does not function inside a virtual machine.
    • USB 3.0 flash drive - you cannot format this type of device inside a virtual machine.
    These issues are resolved.
